3-Ingredient Cleaner for Grout and Tiles: Renew the Appearance of Your Grout!

Grout and tile can accumulate dirt, grime, and stains over time, making your floors and walls look worn and dirty. However, you don’t need harsh chemicals or expensive cleaners to restore their sparkle. With just three simple ingredients, you can easily clean and renew the appearance of your grout and tiles—without breaking the bank!

Here’s how to create a quick, effective cleaner with items you likely already have in your home.

3-Ingredient Cleaner for Grout and Tiles

Ingredients:

  1. Baking Soda – Acts as a natural abrasive, helping to scrub away dirt and stains without damaging your tiles.
  2. White Vinegar – Works as a disinfectant and helps break down tough grime, mold, and mildew.
  3. Water – Helps dilute the mixture and makes it easier to apply.

Instructions:

  1. Create the Paste: In a small bowl, mix 1/2 cup of baking soda with 1/4 cup of water to form a thick paste.
  2. Add Vinegar: Slowly add 1/4 cup of white vinegar to the paste. The vinegar will react with the baking soda, causing a fizzing action that helps lift dirt and grime from your grout and tiles.
  3. Apply to Grout and Tiles: Using an old toothbrush or a small scrubbing brush, apply the paste generously to your grout lines and tiles. Focus on areas with visible stains or build-up.
  4. Let It Sit: Allow the paste to sit for 5-10 minutes. The fizzing action will help break down dirt, soap scum, and other stubborn residues.
  5. Scrub and Rinse: After letting the paste sit, scrub the grout lines and tiles with the brush. Once you’ve cleaned all the areas, rinse with warm water to remove the mixture and any loosened dirt.
