Lady dyes coffee filters and then bunches them onto a string. This is going to be huge this spring

Transform simple coffee filters into beautiful peony garlands that will add a touch of elegance and a pop of color to your home decor. This easy DIY project is perfect for spring, bringing a fresh and vibrant look to any space. With just a few materials, you can create a stunning garland that mimics the delicate beauty of peonies without the need for a green thumb.

Hang the peony garland across a mantel, drape it over a headboard, or use it as a centerpiece for a spring-themed party. Its soft pink hues will complement neutral interiors, adding a gentle splash of color. Pair it with other natural elements like wooden accents or greenery for a cohesive and stylish look.

DIY Peony Garland

Materials

White paper coffee filters

Pink fabric dye

Large bowl

Rubber gloves

Twine string

Scissors

Hot glue gun

Directions

Fill a large bowl with warm water and add a small amount of pink fabric dye. Stir until the dye is evenly distributed.

Dip the white coffee filters into the dye solution, allowing them to soak until they reach the desired shade of pink. For a more varied look, leave some filters in longer than others.

Remove the coffee filters from the dye and gently squeeze out the excess liquid. Lay them flat on a towel to dry completely.

Once dry, take 3-4 coffee filters and stack them together. Pinch the center and twist to form a flower shape.

Secure the base of the flower with a small amount of hot glue.

Repeat the process to create multiple flowers.

Cut a piece of twine to your desired garland length.

Attach each flower to the twine using hot glue, spacing them evenly apart.

Trim any excess twine from the ends and hang your garland.

Variations & Tips

For a more vibrant garland, experiment with different shades of dye to create an ombre effect. Try using different sizes of coffee filters to vary the flower sizes for added interest. You can also add green paper leaves between the flowers to mimic the look of real peonies. If you prefer a more rustic look, use jute string instead of twine. For a festive touch, incorporate small LED lights into the garland to make it glow.
