Lulú, a girl who shared her inspiring story, demonstrates how with imagination and creativity, you can design your dream home.
This young mother, after falling pregnant, was forced to leave her home because she couldn’t afford to pay for it, although working full-time, and this also prevented her from spending much time with her little daughter. So she decided to relocate into a free shipping container.
Studying was already draining her, and with her work schedule, she wouldn’t have much time to spend with her kid. That’s when she moved into a 15-square-meter container with her daughter. Lulú transformed a rubbish can into a comfortable home with her ideas and supplies. This needed a minimum investment of $4,000.
It’s astonishing how she renovated the entire container, adding a porch for visitors, a garden, a window in the kitchen, and then hauling a large trailer to add another room. They now have a larger house, and her daughter will have her own room where she can play and socialize with her friends.
This is how this mother chose to live, to enjoy the benefits of spending time with her small daughter rather than studying and working full-time, which she could not have done for long. However, this woman has no regrets about her decision and enjoys spending time with her daughter.
Lulú arrives to various conclusions: “When you don’t have money, it’s better to be creative; it all depends on how many hours we have in our lives and how we want to spend them.” The following video provides a detailed look at the house in question. You’ll be impressed by her ingenuity and love for her daughter, which drives her to go to any length to spend more time with her.
