  1. Add 1 teaspoon of dried rosemary leaves or a small sprig of fresh rosemary to a cup.
  2. Pour in about 250 ml of freshly boiled water.
  3. Cover and steep for 5–10 minutes.
  4. Strain and drink once it has cooled to a comfortable temperature.

Important safety advice

Since you’re breastfeeding, I’d avoid using rosemary tea as a regular medicinal drink for now. The European Medicines Agency says rosemary leaf medicinal preparations are not recommended during breastfeeding because safety data are insufficient. Rosemary used in ordinary cooking is different from concentrated medicinal preparations. Check with your doctor or pharmacist before drinking it regularly.

Also, don’t drink rosemary essential oil or use concentrated extracts as a substitute for tea.

Bottom line: Rosemary tea may offer mild digestive benefits, but many of its other advertised benefits remain unproven in humans. It isn’t a detox, cancer treatment, or proven remedy for improving memory.
